ENJOY TRAIL RUNNING IN GANDIA
Gandia, a nature-rich tourist destination, will soon feature three circuits designed for Trail Running, a sport that involves running on natural trails through mountains and forests. A beginner-level circuit through the Marjal de Gandia is already in place, while a medium-difficulty circuit centered around the Bairén Castle is under preparation. The third and most challenging circuit will cover about 15 km in the Mondúver area and is currently in development.
Trail Running has become increasingly popular in recent years as it offers a more demanding and exciting alternative to road running. This sport enables runners to stay connected to nature while appreciating its beauty. Due to uneven surfaces and steep inclines, trail running is physically and technically more challenging, but it also provides a more rewarding experience and a greater sense of achievement.

Trail Running is also a social activity that brings together enthusiasts who share a passion for the sport. Many events feature both competitive and recreational races for all ages and skill levels. However, safety is crucial—runners should wear appropriate weather-resistant clothing, trail running shoes, and carry water, food, and emergency supplies to stay prepared.
In summary, Gandia and the Safor region are becoming a top national destination for non-competitive Trail Running, thanks to their natural and cultural resources and these new circuits. With proper preparation and safety measures, trail running can be an enjoyable and fulfilling activity for all levels of experience.
Gandia is one of 29 municipalities that is part of the Trail Running Center.
